Overview

In this view, you can easily see the list of all hosts and services.

  2. Choose column data displayed or the number of lines displayed per page.
  3. Refresh of the whole list.
  4. Select elements.
  5. Make a complex filter

Quickly filter elements

On the top of the list, fields will allow you to filter this list:

There are 2 kinds of filters:

Text filter (like Host or Check columns).

    • Type some letters (from 1 to as many as you want)
    • Press enter
    • The filtered list will display the lines containing your letters
    • To remove the filter, select the typed text, delete it and press enter

List of values (like Priority or Status columns):

    • Click in the field
    • The list will display possible values
    • Select one of them
    • The filtered list will display the lines matching the selected value

Select displayed data column

A click on the gearing button  Image Modified  will open the following pop-up.

You can choose which column to display:

Status:Duration : Since when the element is in this state
  • UP : no problem on an host
  • OK : no problem on an service
  • Warning : The service is running but in degraded mode
  • DOWN : the host is not running
  • Critical : the element is not running
  • UNKNOWN : no information is available on the element.
  • FLAPPING : the element state is changing (by default, checks are made every five minutes, so its means that the X last checks results were different).
  • DOWNTIME : The element has been flagged by a Shinken user as “under maintenance”.
  • ACKNOWLEDGED : The problem has been taken into account by a Shinken user.

Output : The output string provided by the last plugin checking the element.

Priority

(Business impact)

The importance of the element defined in the Shinken Enterprise configuration is represented by star (from 0 to 5), this view is sorted by business priority importance.
RealmThe Realm(s) to which the element belongs.
Host TemplatesThe Host Template(s) that the element uses.
Host GroupsThe Host Group(s) to which the element belongs.
ServiceThe Checks name.
ContactsThe short names of the Contact(s) that should be notified whenever there are problems (or recoveries) with this element.

When did the previous check occur.

AttemptsWill be useful only if the state type of the element is SOFT. It indicates how many checks can be possibly done before the State type becomes HARD (more into Hard & Soft Logic).

Realm : The realm to which the element belongs. Realms can be geographical or logical organization.

Priority (Bussines impact) : The importance of the element defined in the Shinken Enterprise configuration is reprensented by star (from 0 to 5). This view is sorted by business priority importance.
DurationSince when the element is in this state.
Is Root ProblemElement is the root cause of a problem.
Is AcknowledgedCurrent element status was acknowledged by someone.
In downtimeWhen the element is currently in downtime.
OutputThe output string provided by the last plugin checking the element.

Refresh the list

If you don't make any action, the page will be refreshed every minutes

If you click a button or any element in the interface, a refresh will occur 60 seconds after the last action.

You can force a refresh using this button Image Modified

 

Advanced Filtering

The filter panel can be opened by clicking on the left

By default, the following filters are defined

  • All status and properties are presents
  • All status and properties of services are presents

You can select host matching status type.

  1. Click on “all” text
  2. The pop-up showing all type appears
  3. Chose the states you want to keep

  1. Click on “any” text
  2. The pop-up showing all properties appears.

To add other filters:

  1. Click on the “and” at the bottom of the filter box
  2. A new line will be added.
  3. Select the new filter
  4. Select the type of comparaison.
  5. Type the matching value.
