Basic monitoring is designed to be able to declare the user hosts, link the valid host templates and contacts. All administrators that will add hosts in the system need to read and understand the basic monitoring logic.
Advanced monitoring is designed to be able to filter large and heteregenous environnements. Only monitoring administrators must read this part of the documentation. They will be able to build a templte system that the other administrators that will be able to use without knowing monitoring implementation details.
