Here are Improvements / Corrections in this release:

 

Visualization UI

List ALLImprovement

  • In the left panel containing the Advanced filtering, when adding filter, "tag" label become "host template" and "son of" become "link to"

 

 Improvement
  • The properties Description and Address are now available in the list.
     
 
Detail panelNew feature


  • Each host and check can be linked to an external URL (like a wiki page), which is defined in the Configuration UI.
     
  • A button has been added to open these externals URL
    • If the URL is defined the button is active
    • if not defined, the button is automatically un-active.
       
  • For Host the button is located in the Manage tab.

  • For checks, the button it located in the column  action (checks tab)
  

 Bug
  • In the Checks Tab, an output with a word to long (without space) was not well displayed.

  • In Firefox, when the zoom is set to 100%, tabs were to big and a useless scroll was displayed.
    Tabs size is now adapting itself to the detail panel height.

Wall: Reporting When choosing the element, the label "Host by tag" is replaced by "Hosts by host template"
 
   

Configuration UI

Auto Detection ModulesImprovementIf an Auto Detection Module can't be loaded, the state of the source is now in error in the home page (misspelling in the configuration file for example), previously in pending.

Data management has been improved, in the data tab:

  • The column From Templates shows the inherited values for each data
  • Inherited data from a template which are overloaded by the user are highlighted. Overloaded properties will be in black.
  • The tab label contains the number of inherited data (in purple) and the number of overloaded (in black)

  • for Host, Host template, check, check template, contact, contact template:
    • All properties of any levels of inheritance are displayed on an element (Only 2 levels were shown, since now)
    • All Data of any levels of inheritance are displayed in data page of an element (Only 2 levels were shown, since now)

 Improvement
  • In difference tab, current value is now in black, and the new value is in blue.
    The red previously used might lead the user to think there was an error.

 Bug
  • When the user did accept differences on an element with the "Apply differences" button, the Menu "Apply changes" counter was not visually updated.
     
Host edit pageImprovementAll checks of any levels of inheritance are displayed in the tab Checks for a host (Only 2 levels were shown since now)
 
Checks edit pageBugChecks with $KEY$ (related to feature "duplicate for each") can't be saved and were refused due to the $ character.
 
   

Monitoring Packs

Pack printers Printer Host Template was using the "workhours" time period which was not present in the Shinken Enterprise Configuration provided during installation or update. It's now referring to "24x7" time period.
Pack linux Linux SSH plugins were not compatible with the default debian8 OpenSSH encrypting configuration.
Pack DNS The DNS sample check was looking at host DNS entry in system configured DNS servers instead of checking DNS server real availability.
